Brighter Days works with institutions who commission and fund, and with businesses meeting their social responsibility commitments, connecting both to independent community organisations across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, acting together.
For universities, the NHS, councils and housing associations
You need to reach people who share something you care about, and the usual routes do not get you there. A directory of community groups will tell you a woodworking club exists. It will not tell you who is in the room.
Every organisation in this partnership is completely at home in its own community, and between them they are in a lot of rooms. Behind each door is much the same thing: people getting through what life puts in front of them, alongside people who understand it. That is what makes the reach specific rather than general.
The relationships already exist and they are not ours to spend carelessly. We introduce, we coordinate, and we make sure people are involved properly rather than surveyed and forgotten.
Working with Keele University, connecting communities to research that affects them and coordinating their involvement in it.
For businesses and supporters
If you have social value commitments from a public sector contract, they have to be delivered somewhere real and you have to be able to report on what happened. This is a direct route to doing that well, in the communities you already sell into and employ people from.
Employer-supported volunteering days go to the organisations that want them, not into our own back office. Sponsorship, in-kind help and gifts of equipment all work the same way: we will tell you where it went and what it did.
